| Current Research Themes | I study the aspects and significance of the rise of the ancient Japanese state and compare them with the other states of the northeast Asian world. Also, through readings of the diaries and other old records written by members of the Heian aristocracy, I endeavor to clarify the true nature of the politics, culture, society, and the religion of the Heian aristocracy. |
