Measures against Misuse of Public Research Funds and Misconduct in Research Activities at the National Institutes for the Humanities

The National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU), of which the International Research Center for Japanese Studies is a member, has adopted measures to prevent misconduct in research and other activities in response to the notices issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, "Guidelines for Supervision and Auditing of Public Research Funds at Research Institutions" and "Guidelines for Measures against Misconduct in Research Activities."

Offices for Consultation about and Submission of Reports (Allegations) of Misconduct

Based on the above measures, the following offices have been established.

I. Public Research Funds Misuse Reporting Office

II. Public Research Funds Consultation Office (use of and application for research funds)

III. Inappropriate Research Activity Complaint and Consultation Office

For the Attention of Vendors and Service Providers

As part of the measures against misuse of funds and research misconduct, the National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU) has established the "Basic Policy on Procurement for the National Institutes for the Humanities" (hereafter "Basic Policy").
Vendors doing business with NIHU (and its institutes) are expected to be in agreement with the terms of the "Basic Policy." You will be requested to submit a document on "Doing Business with the National Institutes for the Humanities" and we look forward to your cooperation in observing these rules.
