Current Research Themes	My research examines the history of music therapy in the East and West and the cultural history of medical care. In recent years my research has been focused on Japan’s early modern and modern periods, and my sources are basically medical and music-related, specifically the primary resources of medical institutions such as patient charts and records of music therapy.
