||My research centers on the major changes in the perception of the spatial composition of the capital city during the Sui and Tang dynasties, which had an essential influence on the city planning of East Asian capitals, including those of Japan. In addition, I am studying the structure of the palace from the perspective of the Zhou dynasty system idealized after the Han dynasty. Currently, I am researching the Heian-kyō capital and Minase detached palace during the reign of the retired emperor Go-Toba, which was a major turning point in Japanese history.
