The history of photography began with multiple origins around the world. France is renowned as one of the countries that pioneered photography, while Kagoshima is historically significant as one of the first places where photography was practiced in Japan. This symposium, co-hosted by the International Research Center for Japanese Studies and the Center for Modern Kagoshima Studies, invites presenters from France and Japan to Kagoshima to engage in discussions with participants about these different origins. |
