Under the rapidly changing environment of the digital technology, the research on classical materials, especially visual materials such as picture scrolls, picture books and wood prints has been placed on a new stage. In responding to this development, this research project, attended by classical literature, art and history scholars, information technology developers, library scientists and publishers, together pursues a jointed study. The goal of this research is to share subjects and methods, to present various approaches to the current and the future development, and to contribute to the academic research in the new era.
