An interdisciplinary study of ancient interchanges in East AsiaEInternational exchanges had been active in ancient East Asia.especially traffics between China and Japan brought great innovations (formation of the nation-state, construction of the capital city, religious activities, economic activities, etc.) to ancient Japan. On the other hand ancient Chinese society progressed based on the interchanges with adjacent nations and western nations. Ancient East Asian is the model case that international interchanges accelerated social progress, so the studies of this model case will contribute to rethinking the human history. We could not conduct these studies by one discipline but need a multilateral perspective. We adopted the purpose and method of our research as followings. Title: An interdisciplinary study of ancient interchanges in East Asia The target period We focus the Suei and Tang period (7th to 9th century AD) while the international interchanges had been extremely active, and we will try to clarify the process of formation and decline of those interchanges,
