Today, we face the threat of potentially damaging of nature. We are also witnessing the deterioration of our natural habitat, which prompts us to examine the relationship between civilization and environment. It is from this perspective that this project was conceived as a means to unravel the intricate link between environmental parameters and the sustainable development of complex societies. The forests and rich soil and water have been maintained even today in the rice cultivating-fishing societies. The rice cultivation and fishing has helped to preserve the bio-diversity, is the most suitable system to natural environment than that of the wheat-cultivating pastoral civilization. We must give serious research to the ethos of rice-cultivating-fishing civilizations in the Yangtze Mekong Rivers in future for the preservation of nature and the sustainable developments.
