This collaborative research project aims at clarifying the emigration and dispersal of prehistoric Mongoloid peoples by means of scientific and interdisciplinary methods. The latest facts and discoveries concerning emigration and dispersal will be examined in an attempt to establish a new paradigm. It is hoped that this research will lead to analyses of the origins and differentiation of the societies and cultures of the Mongoloid peoples, who account for more than a half of the world's population. Furthermore, this research will approach the evolutionary process of the Japanese people and culture within the framework of Mongoloid studies.
