This symbol represents flowing water. Water implies a source of life with the ensuing benefits. By using this symbol, the image of water is likened to the roots of culture in general. Furthermore, flowing water evokes images of fluidity and life force. These images are indicative of Nichibunken's learning style, pursuing dynamic studies of Japanese culture. The three lines of the symbol, the centerline connecting the other lines, denote the interdisciplinary and international exchange sought by Nichibunken.

Please note: These URLs are considered to represent the best links to World Wide Web sites of major institutions engaging in Japanese studies and academic associations relating to Japanese studies. However, websites are continually being updated, and in some instances, we were unable to locate independent web sites for Japanese studies; thus, we cannot warrant that all information here is current or complete. Regarding scholarships/fellowships web sites, we compiled the links to the institutions which provide aids for scholars who want to study or conduct research in Japan.
